WDO Challenge 2015


The 2015 WDO Challenge prizes were awarded at the Winter Gathering on January 23, 2016
A big Thank you to Andy Mauk, our guest speaker, for sharing his experiences
in getting to, qualifying for and racing the Isle of Man Manx GP!


During the 2015 riding year a challenge was spelled out by the WDO board to give an award to the rider with the most points accumulated.  Points were able to be earned through meeting attendance, dinner rides and photos at special locations. 
Each earned raffle ticket good towards the Challenge prizes. A total of 42 people participated in this years challenge.
Congratulations to Christine Ledezma and Ross Bennett for winning the 2015 WDO Challenge!!!
These winners tied by amassing 45 points out of 50 possible and each had also visited all 25 of the special locations. Their names join previous winners on a plaque located at MotoUnion. Shane Clugston, Keith Stengel and Joe Goljenboom round out the top five points earners. A drawing of raffle tickets was held at the Winter Gathering on January 23 with the following people winning prizes:

Challenge Guidelines for 2015

The Challenge Coordinator will keep a running total of each member’s points. Points can be earned by attending WDO meetings, dinner rides, certain motorcycle social events and a list of special location rides. Everyone who participates will earn points toward raffle tickets for prizes awarded at the annual WDO Winter Gathering.
- Each WDO member will get one raffle entry for each point earned
- Raffle tickets will be awarded at the annual WDO Winter Gathering
- Must be a dues-paying member in good standing
- Points must include at least 2 meetings
(Name must be listed on attendance roster for meeting point credit)
- A maximum of 30 raffle tickets will be awarded
Four ways to earn points:

  • WDO Meeting attendance – 11 points possible
  • Dinner rides after meetings – 7 points possible
  • Motorcycle social events – 7 points possible
  • Special location points – 25 points possible
Dinner rides after meetings - The ride will leave following the monthly meeting from MotoUnion. A point is earned for the ride after the meeting. It is not necessary to participate in dinner, although it is kind of the point.

Motorcycle social events –
These are social events you can earn points by attending. You will need a photo of you at the event to show attendance.

May 29-31 AMA Superbike races – RA
August 9 – Indianapolis MotoGP
August 22– Milwaukee Masterpiece bike entry
September 7 – Track Day @ Blackhawk Farms
December 5 – Chili entry in Chili Cookoff @ MotoUnion

Special location points can be earned by taking a picture of yourself with your motorcycle in front of the location. It must be clear that you are at the location by using an obvious landmark or sign at the sight. File photos from previous visits will not be allowed, the intent is to visit the site on your Ducati in 2015, however non-Ducati motorcycle photos will be allowed. Locations were chosen for being interesting Wisconsin landmarks, places with tours or relatively near good roads. Points for special locations will be tallied by sending an email to Shane the Challenge Coordinator here: Challenge@WisconsinDesmoOwners.com with the name of the location, your name, a picture of you with your bike at the location and the date you were there. Please send your photos in a timely manner after they are taken. Entries must be submitted by December 1, 2015. Accommodations will be made for those who do not have the ability to submit digital photos.
