The 2016 WDO Challenge prizes were awarded at the Winter Gathering on January 21, 2017 A big Thank you to our guest speaker, Larry for sharing his experiences in racing over many years! During the 2016 riding year a challenge was spelled out by the WDO board to give an award to the rider with the most points accumulated. Points were able to be earned through meeting attendance, dinner rides and photos at special locations. Each earned raffle ticket good towards the Challenge prizes. WDO Challenge 2016 Mission Statement: The WDO Challenge is held to encourage riding your Ducati and participating in the Ducati community. Challenge Guidelines: The Challenge Coordinator will keep a running total of each member’s points. Points can be earned by attending WDO meetings, dinner rides, certain social events and a list of special location rides. Everyone who participates will earn points toward raffle tickets for prizes awarded at the annual WDO Winter Gathering. - Each WDO member will get one raffle entry for each point earned - Raffle tickets will be awarded at the annual WDO Winter Gathering - Must be a dues-paying member in good standing - Points must include at least 2 points with 1 being a meeting (Name must be listed on attendance roster for meeting point credit) - A maximum of 30 raffle tickets will be awarded per member for points, before bonus WDO meetings are typically held on the 2nd Saturday of the month at MotoUnion 3pm. Some exceptions apply; specific dates and locations are in the calendar at WisconsinDesmoOwners.com Dinner rides after meetings will leave following the monthly meeting from MotoUnion. A point is earned for the ride after the meeting. It is not necessary to participate in dinner, although it is kind of the point. You will need a photo of you at the event to show attendance. - January 9-10 / Oshkosh, WI / EAA Museum road trip - February 12-14 / Chicago International Motorcycle Show – Rosemont (Photo should be in the Ducati booth) - June 3-5 / AMA Superbike races – RA - June 16 / Ducati Night at the Iron Horse Hotel - August 21 / WDO Picnic East Troy ***NOTE: New event!!! To be held at Don and Dawn's in East Troy - September 4 / 'Ducs on the Farm' trackday entry @ Blackhawk Farms - December 3 / Chili entry in Chili Cookoff @ MotoUnion Special location points can be earned by taking a picture of yourself with your motorcycle in front of the location. It must be clear that you are at the location by using an obvious landmark or sign at the site. File photos from previous visits will not be allowed, the intent is to visit the site on your Ducati in 2016, however non-Ducati motorcycle photos will be allowed. Locations were chosen for being interesting Wisconsin landmarks, places with tours or relatively near good roads. Points for special locations will be tallied by sending an email to Shane the Challenge Coordinator here: Challenge@WisconsinDesmoOwners.com with the name of the location, your name, a picture of you with your bike at the location and the date you were there. Please send your photos in a timely manner after they are taken. Entries must be submitted by December 1, 2016.
