The 2018 WDO Challenge prizes were awarded at the Winter Festa on January 26, 2019 A big Thank you to our guest speaker, Christine Ledezma for sharing her experiences in riding through Patagonia and to the southernmost city in the world! During the 2018 riding year a challenge was spelled out by the WDO board to give an award to the rider with the most points accumulated. Points were able to be earned through meeting attendance, dinner rides and photos at special locations. The top 10 in points earned a prize from the WDO Prize Cache. Congratulations to Shane Clugston for winning the 2018 WDO Challenge!!! His name is now on the winners plaque displayed at MotoUnion. Congratulations to the raffle winners and thank you to all who participated WDO Challenge 2018 Four ways to earn points: WDO Meeting attendance (11) Dinner rides after meetings (6) Motorcycle social events (8) Scavenger Hunt (25) WDO Meetings are generally held on the 2nd Saturday of the month at MotoUnion 3:15pm. Exceptions apply but specific dates, times and locations will be in the calendar at www.WisconsinDesmoOwners.com Dinner rides after meetings give us the opportunity to ride in a group and experience scenery around SE Wisconsin. Restaurants are chosen for their proximity to good roads and ability to handle our group for parking and seating. A Google map of the restaurants with website and additional information will be available. (This is an unfinished list as we are waiting to confirm some specific dates) February 17-18 / Lake Geneva Comfort Inn June 14 / Ducati Night at the Iron Horse August 5 / WDO annual picnic September 2nd (Sunday) / 5th annual 'Ducs on the Farm' (point is for riding on the track or all-day support of the members on track) December 8 / Chili Cookoff (point is for entering a chili in the contest at MotoUnion) (If the map asks for permission, be sure you are logged out of your Google account) Scavenger Hunt points can be earned by taking a picture of yourself with your motorcycle in front of the location. It must be clear that you are at the location by using an obvious landmark or sign at the site. The Google Map has pointers for each photo op. File photos from previous visits will not be allowed, the intent is to visit the site on your Ducati in 2018, however non-Ducati motorcycle photos will be allowed. Locations were chosen for being interesting Wisconsin landmarks, places with tours or relatively near good roads. Points for the Scavenger Hunt will be tallied by sending an email to Shane the Challenge Coordinator here: Challenge@WisconsinDesmoOwners.com with the name of the location, your name, a picture of you with your bike at the location and the date you were there. Please send your photos in a timely manner after they are taken. Entries must be submitted by December 1, 2018. Accommodations will be made for those who do not have the ability to submit digital photos.
